Translation

[edit]

The translation of the words in English is incorrect: 'الذي'، does not mean 'he', it could mean any of the following: which, whose, who, whom, whoever, whomever, whosoever, whomsoever. 'بيده' does not mean 'in whose hand', it means 'in his hand' 76.93.42.35 (talk) 05:17, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You're absolutely correct on the translations for those individual words, but keep in mind that most modern translation methods do not use word-for-word translations for entire sentences or clauses; translation for meaning is more important. "Blessed is whom in his hand is the object" is not proper composition in the English language. Given that the project from which this image was taken - the Quranic Arabic Corpus - doesn't make its own translations but rather borrows from well-known ones, I think it is excusable.
