How high is the risk of catching malaria in Spain and Italy really? And aren't there place outside of this map where you are at risk too? E.g. a friend of mine was down with malaria on one of the Solomon Islands in the Pacific.

MALARIA IN EUROPE?????????????????????????????

[edit]

Ahaahah , u r mad Filip em!

It's a historical map, probably accurate up to World War II and should be labelled as such. However, "Nowadays, all the malaria cases reported in France are only imported cases [10], excepted for three suspected, but not-confirmed, autochthonous cases in 2006." http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=1808464 --MartinezMD (talk) 07:15, 18 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cancel this map!

[edit]

this map is a shame, it's an insult for an encyclopedia!

it's full of mistakes, it shows malaria in europe, and omits the presence of malaria in south east asia (vietnam, thailandia, cambodia, etc) where malaria is still endemic. where is the rest of the world? malaria exists also in the americas and oceania

moreover this map comes from a site with no scientific or official importance http://www.understandingrace.org/humvar/sickle_01.html not only it is also RACIST and is based on a no scientific theory, demonstrated to be wrong and senseless! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.39.120.169 (talk) 13:08, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
