This map is problematic: 1) information is a few years old. See current production figures at http://www.goldsheetlinks.com/production.htm 2) The production symbols are dumped on the capital city so more gold is produced in New York than in California and more gold in the Cape Province than in Transvaal! I have referred in the main article to this graph which clearly shows the changing tendencies: http://jutiagroup.com/20090415-where-have-all-the-gold-mines-gone/
