you don't cook coddle in the oven! at least not in my experience. i used a very wide, deep steel pot, and more or less steam the upper half of the dish by only half-filling it with water, covering it, and boiling at a high temperature until the potatoes are soft. and i am a big fan of coddle! --Kaini (talk) 00:08, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
