Why Dublin?

[edit]

Why is Dublin singled out here? There are far more populous and dense cities in the British Isles. TharkunColl (talk) 00:00, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not according to the data the map was made from. The Dublin and London regions were of such ridiculously high densities compared to everywhere else that to include them properly in the map would skew the whole thing horridly. I tried, but it was just impossible. Thus they're just left separately. --sony-youthpléigh 02:21, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sony-youth can you indicate exactly where you got your data from - not just the main domain names? If you take a look at http://www.citymayors.com/statistics/largest-cities-density-125.html you will see the following (cities outside the British Isles have been excluded):
City / Urban area Country Population Land area
(in sqKm)
Density
(people per sqKm)
London UK 8278000 1623 5100
Leeds/Bradford UK 1499000 370 4050
Manchester UK 2245000 558 4000
Birmingham UK 2284000 600 3800
Glasgow UK 1200000 368 3250
Dublin RoI 1075000 365 2950

It appears that the map is incorrect but I would be happy to be shown different source data. Greenshed (talk) 20:27, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
