Question??????

"Currently, there is a neighbor in my neighborhoood, whom has disapeared walking right out the front door of his family's pvt Brown-stone building, here in East Harlem, New York. At present time its been a total of nine (9) days. Mr. Piceta from 118th street left the house with just a tee-shirt, pants and snickers, left without his wallet, money, medication and food. the police was called in, posters have been placed around the community, and his last place of employment (Mt. Siani hospital) where he'd worked for over twenty-years. I suggested to the family and police to look in that vincinty, especially "Central Park" as there are places to sit and sleep........ 'MY question is: when someone with alzheimer (dementia) just decides to walk away what would be there most likely train of thought' would there suvival skills still come to dominate, is he able to re-focus and return on his own, what if he is spotted, Should I speak to him? grap him? Call the police? (who would in turn hand-cuff him, which I am totally against). I need to know what to do....some real professional help
