The map indicates as if Spain was udner the Abbasids. But this is not true, since the Ummayads always remained there (until they were overthrown by the berbers).Bless sins (talk) 19:46, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that map is incorrect. The history is, the whole Califate was once under the Ummayad rule, then the Abbasids took the power over all the Califate but the Iberian Peninsula -that remained under the control of the Ummayads. To be more exact, after being deposed by the Abbasids, the Ummayads fled from Damascus to Cordova and managed to kept the Iberian Peninsula under their control while the Abbasids got the rest. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.8.240.183 (talk) 12:02, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The map doesn't extend far enough northwards to show to northernmost extremities of the empire, this is poor. 94.192.38.247 (talk) 02:19, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the map seems to be centred on the Kingdom of Dongola, whatever that is. --81.111.208.250 (talk) 00:27, 14 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
