English: Helmets made of steelplate (one part), used since 1944 in German civil defense (as successor of the three-part helmet of 1938) until beeing replaced in the 1960ies by a plastic helmet. The pictured helmets were used up to the 1990ies by a Red Cross communication unit (with small budget) and self upgraded with white painting, yellow bar and red cross symbol.
Deutsch: Helme aus Stahlblech (einteilig), vom deutschen Luftschutz seit 1944 bis in die 1960er Jahre benutzt, bis er vom Kunststoffhelm ersetzt wurde. Die abgebildeten Helme waren bei einer finanziell unterversorgten Fernmelde-Einheit des Bayerischen Roten Kreuzes noch bis Anfang der 1990er Jahre im Einsatz, selbst mit weißer Farbe und einem gelben umlaufenden Streifen bemalt sowie mit einem Rotkreuz-Symbol beklebt.
