Summary

Description
English: Yore Mill, Aysgarth This was a water mill, built in 1854, replacing a late 18C cotton mill that was destroyed by fire the previous year, and in turn replaced a medieval fulling mill. It was both a corn mill and a woollen mill at first, but by the late 19C it was used only as a corn mill. It was refitted with a roller plant in 1937, and the water-wheel was replaced by turbines. The building is now a museum housing a large collection of horse-drawn carriages. (Information from the English Heritage listing)
