The Woodhead Pass can be seen behind the Woodhead Reservoir. Woodhead reservoir is a man-made lake in Longdendale in north Derbyshire. It was started in 1848 to supply water from the River Etherow to the urban areas of Greater Manchester[1]. There were problems with the initial dam construction however, and it was only finished in 1877 to complete the Longdendale chain.
