Description
English: Image of a photograph of William Reddick, a prominent businessman, politician, sheriff, landowner, and philanthropist in early Ottawa, Illinois. Reddick served for almost a decade as a state senator, helped to develop the plans for the University of Illinois and Ottawa's public school system. Reddick had a large Italianate mansion built for his family, from which guests watched the first Lincoln-Douglas debate across the street in 1858.
