Summary

Description
English: Watercolor, bodycolor, and gum arabic on paper, with scratching out

13 X 8 in., 33 X 20.5 cm. Signed, l.r., W. HUNT

This is another, later version of the same subject that William Henry Hunt first painted and exhibited in 1834. The artist used a different model, who is not one of the two Swain brothers, for this second composition of a boy wearing his father's or grandfather's much too large boots.
