| Description |
Nederlands: Herberg en gasthof 'De Keizer' is één van de weinige gebouwen dat door de eeuwen heen zijn functie en in grote mate zijn uitzicht behouden heeft. De eerste vermelding vinden we terug in 1620. Zestig jaar later las men in een huurcontract het volgende : Word te huer geprensenteerd
eerstelijk de huysinghe met schuer, stalle, schop en brouwerije, genaempt 'den keizer'. Tussen 1886 en 1890 verbleef hier de wereldvermaarde architect en schilder Henry Van de Velde. Het was rond die eeuwwisseling een ontmoetingsplaats voor schrijver en schilders van de Wechelse school.
