English: The above brutal murder occurred on the 14th of May, at the corner of Montgomery and Washington streets. Mr. King was crossing the street diagonally when Casey asked him, "Are you armed?" and throwing off his cloak
at the same moment, discharged his revolver, and again cocked it and held it in readiness to use again. Mr. King staggered into the Pacific Express office, exclaiming, "O! l am shot."
