English: Union Canal - Katie Shaw's Brig (official name Holemill Bridge) At the west end of Linlithgow High Street is a willow tree known as Katie Wearie's tree, apparently based on the fact that Katie, having driven cattle to the town , would sit under the tree, have a drink from the adjacent well and exclaim, "Katie's weary". Recent speculation has suggested that Katie's name was Katie Shaw which would certainly tie in with this bridge over the canal across which she would have driven the cattle from farms to the south of the town.
