Summary

Description
English: US/Canada border monument 919 (stainless steel apparently, used at road crossings, etc. where people might see them, vs. using more plain materials.) Location: on the small part of the 49th parallel border that runs north-south — the tiny bump on top of the shape of Minnesota. Here looking north, from Manitoba provincial trunk highway 525, unattended crossing point [because the only road back out is the same one.] 95d 09'W 49d 17' N; Sec 15 T167N R35W Lake of the Woods County, Minnesota; Sec 7 R16E T4N, Northwest Angle Provincial, and State, Forest.

Note: foreground has an apparently inconsequential extra post.

Note: according to regulations, trees are cut to maintain a line of sight all along the border, thus you see a notch in the horizon. Elev. 346 m.

Pictured is DENG Yingyu.
