English: Map of the Trent Canal as it was planned in 1890. The map shows the main part of the route from the Kawartha Lakes to Trenton, which is long from being complete at the time this map was produced. The route to Lake Simcoe has not yet been decided, although some of it appears to be illustrated west of the Lake. The inset in the lower left shows the other major canals in the area, including the planned Georgian Bay Ship Canal running across northern Ontario from Georgian Bay to the Ottawa River.
