Tombola at Sohmer Park (1890), Montreal, QC, c. 1910, Cumming & Brewis - Ink on paper mounted on card - Halftone - 15 x 20 cm. On June 24, 1890, the day of the French-Canadian holiday of St. Jean-Baptiste, a tombola was organized at Sohmer Park. Proceeds went to the Monument National, a theatre which was built on St. Lawrence Boulevard in 1893. Festivities for Victoria Day were also held in the park.

Le 24 juin 1890, jour de la fête canadienne-française de la Saint Jean-Baptiste, une tombola est organisée au parc Sohmer. Les profits sont destinés au Monument national, une salle de spectacles qui sera construite en 1893 sur la rue Saint-Laurent. Le parc accueille aussi les réjouissances de la fête de la Reine.
