DescriptionThun trolleybus 8 and trailer 23 at Thun Bahnhof in 1979.jpg
English: In Thun, Switzerland, trolleybus 8 and trailer 23 of the Thun–Beatenbucht trolleybus system (part of the Verkehrsbetriebe STI), are laying over at the STI terminus across from Thun Bahnhof (Thun railway station), in 1979, waiting to depart for Beatenbucht. No. 8 was a 1951 Berna with a Ramseier & Jenzer body and was 11 metres (36 ft) long. Trailer 23 had a Moser chassis and R&J body, and was 9 metres long. The trolleybus line opened for service in August 1952 and closed in March 1982.
In this photo, the red sign in No. 8's side window was indicating a trip to "Interlaken", but that simply meant that this trip had a scheduled transfer connection at Beatenbucht with an STI motorbus to Interlaken; trolleybuses never ran beyond Beatenbucht, and the overhead wiring ended there.
