Summary

Description
English: HOW THE INCUBATORS YOUTH NETWORK (Iyonet) FREE COMPUTER TRAINING HAS IMPACTED THE LIVES OF YOUNG PEOPLE

The incubators youth programme serves as a tool for youth Empowerment in our Communities today. Firstly youth are often disenfranchised in our communities and naturally feel they have little or no voice. Since computer is an important aspect of youth culture, the IYONET uses this means to increase youth participation in learning how to use computers and preaching the gospel of Christ to empower and encourage the youth in our communities.

The IYONET free computer training programme has helped both the young and old people in our various communities to Excel in life and be computer literate, educators or even professionals. We have never had it so good in the history of empowering the youth. This training is so challenging and competitive among the students and it is really interesting seeing both young and old people coming together as one to learn computer. And this training by God’s grace has lasted for about three and half years now and has trained young people from different states and especially youths in rural communities who ordinarily would not have been able to afford a computer education. Abuja suburbs like Nyanya, Mararaba,Ado, and Masaka have immensely benefited from this free computer training from 2011 till August 2012 while Places like the THREE IVIE CLAN consisting of Imiakebu, Itsukwi and Imiegba in Etsako east LGA in Edo state also had One hundred and forty youths trained for free by The Incubators Youths Outreach Network from August-October 2012 and still in Edo state,Afokpella also had about fifty of their youths trained between October-December 2012. In Kaduna state, the INCUBATORS youths Outreach Network has a training Centre at the YMCA Sabon Tasha Kaduna where it has trained over five hundred youths in her FREE COMPUTER TRAINING PROGRAM from January 28th 2013 to March 20th 2014 through the support of the YMCA Kaduna President Assoc. Prof.Ayuba Kwasau . Still within 2013, the IYONET was in KAKURI, a community in Kaduna where it trained over fifty youths through the support of the YMCA kakuri. Ungwan Romi, one of the fast developing community in Kaduna south was also not left out as Moriah Baptist Church along Church road, played host to the INCUBATORS by allowing them use their church hall as a training centre.
IMPACT TO THE YOUTH TO THE YOUTH

This programme has trained more than 300 young people in each state both young and old. The computer programme has impacted the lives of so many youth in indifferent communities and in different ways such as: financially, spiritually, emotionally, academically, physically and also morally. this shows the effectiveness of programme to the youth. However most student of this computer programme got jobs after graduating from the computer training school as ;Computer teachers in primary schools, secretaries in business centres, some people have opened their own business centres earning legitimate money and still, the entrepreneurial class prepares young people to be self reliant and trained young people on how to be entrepreneurs. The programme also help the youth on how to read and write, how to speak in the public, how to pray and know the word of God and many more. The tragedy is that not all the youth were interested in the computer training because they feel they can’t cop and the left without a good reason some left for their private activities but still we thank God how he has helped us by the incubators youth programme. In addition technical problems were experienced. Despite these barriers, most of us perceived that using computers and the internet reduced our anxiety concerning communication with adults, raised our perception status of our social status, increased our controlled when dealing with adults, increased our participation in the community, it supported reflective thought, increased our efficiency, and improved our access to resources. This computer that we’ve learnt can aid our communities in planning of community process, information sharing, getting more opinions, reduces status barriers and much more. We’ve really learnt many things and with all we have learnt we’ll use it to exploit our communities, state, and the nation. with this training with God on our side most of us will be self reliance without moving up and down in search of work to do and that’s a great impact to us the students of the incubators youth network. In conclusion: This programme is really an empowerment training programme not only to us but to the nation entirely. It is an Empowerment tool to we youth of the incubators youth network because we the students feel we are able to participate and compete in our communities, and also brag of being computer literate where ever we go to in this world. EXPERIENCE ON THE PROJECT  It was stressful  It was challenging(everybody with his/her opinion)  We went on a research on the internet  It help us to know new things to build our mind set on what to do  It took us time to organised the article ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS  We would like to acknowledge God first on how he saw us throughout our project and for his Grace  We also want to acknowledge the President of the incubators youth network Pastor Stephen Afuafo Efuweh  Finally we would like to acknowledge group 3 members for participating in this project
