DescriptionThe effects of the 'pingdemic', Morrisons, Wetherby (22nd July 2021).jpg
English: The effects of the 'pingdemic', Morrisons, Wetherby, West Yorkshire. The spike in COVID cases in July 2021 caused the NHS app to go into overdrive and increasing numbers had to isolate. Owing to the advanced stage of the vaccine programme the medical conseuqnces of this wave do not appear to be great but the numbers of workers isolating is causing shortages. Many supermarkets have reduced opening hours and for the second time in the pandemic shelves are bare (though not quite as stripped as they were in March 2020 and this time not because of panic buying). Taken on the evening of Thursday the 22nd July 2021.
