DescriptionThe churches of St Michael and St Mary - geograph.org.uk - 766121.jpg
English: The churches of St Michael and St Mary. Three churches share the same churchyard: Reepham's church of St. Mary (at right) is joined by its choir vestry to St. Michael's (at left), once serving the parish of Whitwell, and a third church, All Saints, which served the parish of Hackford. All Saints church was destroyed in the fire of 1543 and all that remains is a short section of wall, covered by vegetation, in the southwestern corner of the churchyard > 766129.
Services are still being held at St Michael's > https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/765636 - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/891239 - https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/891248 but presently the church is mainly used for children's services, community meetings and social and fundraising events; closed to the public, a redevelopment group is seeking to modernise the interior of the building (with the backing of the PCC) and it is hoped that the chancel will be open after the refurbishment.
St Mary's church > 766134 - 766136 - 766141, extensively restored in the 19th century, is open every day. The perhaps most noteworthy survival from medieval times is an altar tomb to Sir William de Kerdiston, on a bed of stones > 766138. The square font dates from Norman times > 766143.
