English: "Though this drawing is only 12 x 14, it took 2 years to complete starting in the late sixties. It was the most difficult drawing ever done in my life (so far), but I enjoyed working on it, especially with no deadline hanging over me. As I found time, I worked on a quarter of an inch at a sitting with no particular goal. Day to day, when I close my eyes, I can envision such a spectacular fantasy, over and over, changing every time. I don't know why my brain can do this, as it serves no particular purpose that I am aware of. Doing a drawing of such an ephemeral mystery, however, is a formidable assignment and addresses all sorts of design challenges."
