English: Memorial of the 1956 Revolution in Tabán Park, erected in 1996. Stone obelisk with a relief of freedom fighters and a stylized bird on top. Location: Tabán Park, Budapest District I., Hungary. Two plaques on the back-side: (1) Erected by a generous donation of the 1956 Hungarian freedom fighters living abroad, the 1956 Monuments and Piety Foundation, and Tibor Hornyák, József Vajda Németh and György Lassan freedom fighters. 1996; (2) This monument was erected for the 40th anniversary of our revolution by the Hungarian people and the surviving freedom fighters to the memory of the martyrs and participants in remembrance of the exemplary patriotism of the heroes / Those who sacrificed his life for the motherland has not died because the future generations of posterity will remember the glorious memory of the heroes of 1956 / Board of Trustees of the 1956 Monuments and Piety Foundation Magyar: 56-os emlékmű a tabáni parkban, Ócsai Károly 1996-ben felállított alkotása. Kő obeliszk forradalmárokat ábrázoló relieffel és egy stilizált madárral a csúcsán. Helyszín: Magyarország, Budapest, I. kerület, Tabán, tabáni park. Hátoldalán két emléktábla: (1) Állította a külországban élő 1956-os magyarok önzetlen adományából, az 1956-os Emlékmű és Kegyeleti Alapítvány, valamint Hornyák Tibor, Vajda Németh József és Lassan György szabadságharcosok. 1996; (2) Ezt az emlékművet a magyar nép és az élő szabadságharcosok emelték szabadságharcunk 40-ik évfordulójára a mártírok és résztvevők örök emlékére méltó emlékezetül a hősök példamutató hazaszeretetére / Nem hal meg az, aki életét a hazáért áldozza, mert az utókor nemzedékei megőrzik 56 hőseinek dicső emlékét / 56-os Emlékmű és Kegyeleti Alapítvány Kuratóriuma |
