DescriptionTS Kellington, River Tees - geograph.org.uk - 366945.jpg
English: TS Kellington, River Tees. The Training Ship Kellington is a former minesweeper which was sold by the Navy to the local branch of the sea cadets in 1996 for £2,000 and has been permanently moored here on the Tees. The cadets must have thought they had a bargain. But caveat emptor, the ship has now been condemned as unsafe and is in real danger of sinking. Scrapping it will cost about £250,000 rising to £500,000 if it does sink. But nobody wants to pay for it. The cadets can't afford the amount involved and the MOD are denying responsibility.
