Afrikaans: Suidooswaartse uitsig oor die suidelikste Tierberg. Die uitgestrekte berg van sowat 7 km lank (2 km daarvan op beeld) loop hier by die Tygerberg-natuurreservaat en N1-hoofweg ten einde. Die reservaat lê aan die wes- en suidhang, en beperk skending van die berg deur steengroewe, waarvan etlike die berg ontsier. Die Sentech-transmissiegerief is op die kruin sigbaar. Die berg se hoogste punt (na links en buite sig) is 415 m bo seespieël by die De Grendel-toring en Maastricht-wandelarea geleë, waar kraglyne die berg oorsteek. Die foto is geneem tydens 'n vlug van die Turkse Lugredery met Johannesburg as bestemming.
English: The Tierberg (7 km long, southernmost 2 km seen here) with adjacent suburbs of Cape Town, viewed from a Turkish Airlines flight (tail number TC-JNH) heading for Johannesburg. The N1 highway is clearly visible in the photograph, curving around the hill's southern limit. The Tygerberg Nature Reserve conserves the western and southern slopes of this southern section, and limits destruction by quarries, of which several deface the mountain. The Sentech Transmission Site is visible on the crest of the hill. |
