Summary

Description	English: Sydney ferry NORTH HEAD alongside HMAS VENGEANCE 3 March 1954. The occasion was the arrival into Sydney of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh onboard the Royal Yacht S S GOTHIC on 3 March 1954. Earlier in the day, GOTHIC had been escorted into Sydney Harbour by VENGEANCE and other naval ships. The two ships anchored in Athol Bay between Bradleys Head and Cremorne Point, from where the Queen & Duke left GOTHIC by Royal Barge to Farm Cove for the official welcome. This photo by Noel Reed would likely have been taken later in the day from Bradleys Head or Ashton Park.
