DescriptionSwansea Bay Station 2040894 7f631d37.jpg
English: Swansea Bay Station, from train/
View westward, towards Mumbles (on former Tramway - over to right), Gowerton, Pontardulais, Llandovery etc.; ex-London & North Western Central Wales Line(Craven Arms - Swansea Victoria). The photograph was taken from a train from Shrewsbury via Craven Arms; the line was closed from Pontardulais on 27/6/64 and subsequently a passenger service on the 'Heart of Wales' line has been run to Llanelli instead of Swansea. The Swansea & Mumbles (electric) Tramway lasted until 5/1/60). Note the wind-blown sand on the platform, which was a constant nuisance.
