Helm: Founder of the Woman's Parsonage and Home Mission Society of the M.E. Church, South_ (Nashville, TN: Publishing House of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, 1898). In honor of her older sister who dreamed of this initiative in the south-eastern mountains of Kentucky, Belle Harris Bennett of Richmond, Kentucky led the Southern Methodist Women's Home Mission Society to get the funding and garnered the the good will of the local communities in the area to assure its success. |
