English: Site of the proposed (1895) Assembly Rooms at Stroud Green, in north London. We see from the plans, now in the London Metropolitan Archives, Clerkenwell, EC1, that the gabled building with a curved ground floor shopfront was already in existence at the time of the planning application, and did not form part of it; the plans show it as "Mr Tanners". The new Assembly Rooms were to be located immediately behind this building. The red brick buildings still visible are what remain of the uncompleted Assembly Rooms.
