Description
English: Professor of Mathematics Stimson J. Brown served as the Astronomical Director (December, 1899 to March, 1901) and Director of the Nautical Almanac Office (August 24,1900 to March 25, 1901). His short tenure was embroiled in the issue of civilian control for the US Naval Observatory.
