Summary

Description
English: Stemma (Italian: Coat-of-arms) of the Alidosi family, taken from Palazzo Alidosi at Cesena, Italy (demolished between 1838 and 1846). The Alidosi family was powerful and extensive and can be traced back to the 10th century. Construction of the Palazzo Alidosi was begun in 1508 by Obizzo Alidosi, the brother of Francesco Adiosi, a favourite of Pope Julius II. The Pope appointed him Papal Governor of Cesena and granted permission for the palace in 1508. Istrian stone, Medieval and Renaissance Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
