English: This Steam Locomotive, manufactured by Dubs & Co, England in 1888 is displayed at Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum, Bangalore. This was initially used by Southern Mahratta Railways (SMR), which later on merged with Mysore Railways and eventually with Indian Railways. This F-class metre gauge steam engine was more popular among early steam locomotives. It was later modified
with larger boilers and altered with increased coal capacity. It has a smoke tube boiler and Stephenson valve gear. The engine cylinder is 14 inches in diameter and 20 inches stroke. It hauled maximum load at 16 kmph on a gradient of 1 in 100.
