English: Statue of en:Sang Nila Utama, a pseudo-legendary Prince from en:Palembang who supposedly founded the en:Kingdom of Singapura in 1299, erected at the en:Raffles Landing Site as part of events commemorating the bicentennial of Singapore's colonisation by the en:British East India Company at the hands of Sir en:Sir Stamford Raffles.
Full-length front view, with office towers at en:Raffles Place in the background, along with a statue (also erected as part of the bicentennial commemorations) of en:Munshi Abdullah, a Malay linguist in the employ of Sir Stamford Raffles who would come to be known as the "Father of Modern Malay Literature".
