| Description | The tomb of St.Heiratha (a.k.a. St.Ulrith) in the Early 16th Century Perpendicular church of St. Heiratha's, Chittlehampton, 09/13. St. Heiratha was a Celtic peasant girl who was a Christian but was blamed for a drought by the majority pagan Saxon viilagers who promptly sliced her to bits with scythes! But the spot where her remains lay then saw a spring bubble-up. So she was made a saint! | |||||||||||||
