Ssangbongsa, or Ssangbong Temple (Ssang means 'twin' and Bong means 'peak' ), derives its name from the pair of twin peaks on the mountain behind this Buddhist temple. Ssangbongsa in located in Hwasun County, South Jeolla Province, South Korea. Ssangbongsa was built by Zen Priest Cheolgam in 868 during the Unified Silla Period. |
