Summary

Description A Soviet Project 629A-class (NATO reporting code "Golf II") ballistic missile submarine B-183 (plant #807) underway off Denmark, near Copenhagen, with the U.S. Navy frigate USS Pharris (FF-1094) in attendance, 10 June 1978. The two ships encountered each other while the submarine was transiting the Baltic Sea, and the frigate was operating with the Standing Naval Force Atlantic.
