English: Alban Way, the old Smallford Station platform Alban Way is a cycle and footpath which runs along the route of the old Hatfield to St Albans railway. This platform was the Smallford Station. The bridge carries traffic on Station Road. The station was opened in 1866, firstly as Springfield, then renamed in 1879. It closed to passengers in 1951 but continued for freight use until 1969.
