| Description |
English: Skelton Lake services (also known as Leeds Skelton Lake services) is a motorway service area operated by Extra, on the M1 motorway near Leeds. It is located on Junction 45 of the Motorway which also links the A63 (into Leeds) with the junction affording access to the services from all directions. The site is 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Leeds.
Construction of the service area began in the summer of 2018. When it opened, on 30 March 2020, only the general shop and fuelling station were able to operate. The main facilities remained closed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with the first few facilities in the main building opening on 1 July 2020. As COVID-19 lockdown restrictions eased, more facilities opened during July and August 2020. The site also has a 100-bedroom hotel (Ramada). |
