Summary

Description
English: drawing of an incised pottery shard (bottom of an amphora) with an archaic inscription in the local script of Sikyon, using consonantal H, a characteristic Sikyonian X-shaped form of Epsilon, and M-shaped San. The inscribed word reads "ΗΕΡΟΟΣ" (classic Greek spelling Ἡρώος, "of the Hero"). Drawing made after a self-made photograph taken in the museum of Sikyon.
