DescriptionShire Hall, High West St, Dorchester - geograph.org.uk - 680103.jpg
English: Shire Hall, High West St, Dorchester This is where the old Crown Court used to sit and it was from here in 1834 that the Tolpuddle Martyrs were transported to Australia for illegal meetings. They had tried to form a trade union. On one very old map this is marked as County Hall but now County Hall is a 20thC building built behind here.
