HISTORIC INN AT GRAND DETOUR BURNED
Dixon, Ill., May 14. — Built in 1865 as a small inn, the Sheffield hotel at Grand Detour, a summer resort near here, was destroyed by fire today at a loss of $30,000. The hotel, owned and operated by R. H. Wells of Chicago, had been added to considerably since it was built as an inn to house workers at the first plow factory in Illinois here nearly 60 years ago.
