Summary

Description
English: Shankend Viaduct Viewed from a minor road to Shankend Farm, this 15-arched masonry viaduct formed part of the Waverley Railway route from Edinburgh to Carlisle. The line was opened in 1862 and closed in 1969, but the structure is still maintained by BRB (Residual) Limited. About 80% of the viaduct is in NT5205 with the remaining 20% in NT5206.
