Summary
| Description | A Metro Transit electric-powered bus breaks down on 2nd Avenue Extension, Seattle, WA, USA. Areas of Downtown Seattle have a legacy network of overhead catenary wires that are still used by traditional bus routes. Occasionally, buses coming down 3rd Avenue turn too fast onto 2nd Avenue Extension, and one or both of the pantograph arms become dislodged, requiring the bus to stop in the middle of the road, and the driver come out and re-set the arms onto the wire via tension cables in the rear. In this extreme case, the entire pantograph arm has broken off the bus and lies on the roadway. |
