Summary

Description The 1890 King County Court House at Seventh Avenue and Jefferson Street on Seattle, Washington's First Hill (which became known as "Profanity Hill" for the miserable climb up from downtown). This was the courthouse until 1917, and was torn down in the 1930s. The location would now be roughly between Harborview Medical Center and Interstate 5.

p. 29 of Seattle and the Orient (more properly, Seattle …and the… Orient), a 1900 "souvenir" pamphlet edited and compiled by Alfred D. Bowen and published by The Times Printing Company (that is, the Seattle Times).

Scanned at 300 dpi; images cleaned up using Picture Publisher's "remove pattern" feature.
Author Book edited and compiled by Alfred D. Bowen. Lettering at the lower right of the photo says "Wilse / No 151. "Wilse" is presumably Anders B. Wilse.
