English: Screenshot (2014-04-07) of the English Wikipedia mainpage, shows a text bug (letters are unreadable) a bat default font type. Firefox 28 on Windows 7 (also in Chrome/IE9 but with the difference that not the entire text is bold, zoom is 100%). Update 2014-04-08: Today this bug appears now also on all other Wikimedia sites and I saw that the standard font group (Arimo,"Liberation Sans" removed) was changed. And I found the reason: It is the incompatibility of the font w:Helvetica Neue (/Helvetica) with Windows 7! Here are some bug-reports(/workarounds):Chrome,Firefox,Firefox, maybe IE9 on generally Helveticamicrosoft and (google shows a lot) all. But maybe the only good thing is, that "Helvetica Neue"(/Helvetica ) is not a standard font in Windows systems. (it could also be various versions of "Helvetica Neue" exists with different appearance, what I've read) -- πϵρήλιο 01:30, 8 April 2014 (UTC) |
