한반도 중부인 중도식 토기 및 북부 지대의 토기와 구분되는 독특한 형태와 색감을 가지고 있다. 이는 청동기 시대에 진주에서 발견된 붉은 간토기와 마찬가지로 한반도 남부와 제주도에는 고조선의 미송리식 토기와는 다른 토기를 만드는 세력이 정착했음을 암시한다. 이후로 삼한의 토기는 가야의 빼어난 굽다리 토기와 신라의 토기로 이어지며 도자기의 중심 축으로 발전을 거듭한다. |
