Image title
A Hall of Fame photo shootApril 26, 1911Ty Cobb tries out his photography skills on fellow Hall-ofFamer Sam Crawford in this rare shot, taken at Bennett Park. For 15 seasons, Crawford played alongside Cobb in the outfield, hit behind him and even pinch hit for him. But he was also overshadowed by Cobb, much as Gehrig was overshadowed by Ruth. Still, Crawford had a brilliant career, batting .309 with 2,961 hits and legging out 309 triples—the most in major-league history.
