Summary

Description
English: In August 1926 the French ocean liner SS Paris came to Wilton's Machinefabriek en Scheepswerf in Schiedam to dock in the 46.000 tons 'Pola-dok' for repairs. The almost new ship had hit a quay in Cherbourg, suffering major damage. Wilton guaranteed the shortest repair time and got the order. At the time 'SS Paris' was the biggest ship ever to steam up the Nieuwe Waterweg .
