Impaling Chichester (Chequy or and gules, a chief vair) representing the marriage of John Reynell (fl.1427/8), (his grandfather's uncle), a Member of Parliament for Devon in 1427/8 (Vivian, Lt.Col. J.L., (Ed.) The Visitations of the County of Devon: Comprising the Heralds' Visitations of 1531, 1564 & 1620, Exeter, 1895, p.643, regnal date "6 Henry IV" (sic, 1404/5), should probably be "6 Henry VI" (1427/8)) who married Agnes Chichester, a daughter of the Chichester family of Raleigh in the parish of Pilton, Devon.
